Kimia Rahgozar

Kimia Rahgozar lives and works in Tehran, where she was born in 1967. Her atelier is located where she has lived for the past 30 years, an old house situated in Shemiran, North of Tehran.

She started taking serious interest in photography as an adolescent, by practicing with her father’s old camera. After graduating from high school with a diploma majoring in mathematics, she wanted to study photography at university. However, photography was not available as a separate course and could only be studied as part of journalism. In those days, the only university courses that had any kudos were medicine and engineering. As she enjoyed Electronics, she opted for Electronics Engineering.
